Musical Director

Jack Bridges

The Humber Harmony Chorus gathers every week to learn and develop under the leadership of their musical director, Jack Bridges.

Jack is currently studying a masters degree in choral conducting at the University of Hull, and previously graduated from the University of Hull with a bachelors degree in history.
He has a Grade 8 merit in singing, and has had extensive training in choral conducting with Sing for Pleasure.
Jack regularly directs Hull University Barbershop Society, and will be directing Humber Harmony's fledgling sister chorus.
Outside of barbershop, Jack is a tenor lay clerk at Hull Minster, and performs there in sung Holy Communion services as well as choral evensong. He is part of the team working to form a Hull Chamber Choir, and currently offers his services to Hull City Council and their 'Singing City' initiative, where he sets up and runs community choirs with the support of the Arts Development sector of HCC. The latest project in this regard was the LGBT+ focussed 'Rainbow Choir', which gathered members of the LGBT+ community and their Proud Allies from around Hull and allowed them to perform as the first act at Pride In Hull, on the 21st July this year.

Jack also arranges for choirs and for barbershop choruses, as well as offering coaching sessions on vocal pedagogy and best singing practices, and is always looking for new groups to offer these services to: just contact him at to find out more.

Jack loves barbershop, and hopes to continute singing and directing with the Humber Harmony Chorus for many years to come.
